The Netherlands is a political mess at the moment. Don’t get confused, I am not into politcs at all, but from some things you just can’t get away anymore. Once upon a time, The Dutch were known for their tolerant drug policies. Nowadays, it’s a scary place for individuals who fight hard to bring legalization into the books of law.

Things are changing rapidly in Spain. While France is still 100% against everything related to cannabis, The Spaniards are moving towards legalization every day, and it goes with quick steps. Right now in Spain, a left political party is running The House, and they are heavily in favour of legalization. I understand where they are coming from, Spain is a massive country and the use of cannabis is estimated among 30% of the population, which is a lot!

Meanwhile in Barcelona there are already 700 coffeeshops alone. That is more than we have here in The Netherlands. Things around this small country are changing quick. The Dutch drug policies are still very old and they don’t get renewed because politicians don’t want to touch the subject. This is a big problem for everyone in society who just wants to see their children grow up. Being thrown in jail for nature is something we need to outlaw immediately. I can not emphasize this enough!

Spain is not that for away from The Netherlands, and most of the knowlegde that is in Spain today is coming from us. All over the world people are using our systems and laws. It’s the simplest way to lay your own groundwork. While all these countries benefit from us, we ourselfes are in a very dangerous position. Police brutality is a real thing over here, and society is getting scared into laws they never agreed upon. None should go to jail anymore for cannabis related ”crimes”. Stop threating cannabis offences like it’s murder.
