Cannabis is demonized for about a century now and the end is not yet upon us. In many countries, the green plant is still a reason for a lot of people to be put in jail. In some Asian countries, you can even catch the death penalty for any ”crime” related to cannabis.  

L.A.W Amsterdam (Lies About Weed) is an independent blog outlet that is created to spread the truth about the horrible actions against cannabis and it’s consumers. In the United States, we see more acceptance to cannabis, but this is not yet everywhere in the world.

It is still illegal to buy cannabis in Europe. The only place where you can buy cannabis legal is The Netherlands (Amsterdam). Mind you, only the consumer buying cannabis is legal in The Netherlands. The production and distribution are still punishable by law. Almost every day a person in The Netherlands is being arrested for cannabis crimes, which is a big problem for Dutch society.

Being located in Amsterdam, it makes my position very interesting to follow these crazy times for cannabis enthusiasts. It is difficult to say what the future of cannabis will look like in the coming ten years. Since we are starting a new decade, I wanted to start afresh and realistic blog about everything that goes around this magical plant.

The hysteria of today is something we need to monitor closely. Most governments and government officials think cannabis is garbage. The PM of The Netherlands (Rutte) said this many times during speeches. This is how powerful people in Europe mostly look at cannabis.
